Kiran Prakash

Kiran is an ardent student of Bharatanatyam under the exemplary tutelage of Gurus Smt. Hema Rajagopalan and Smt. Krithika Rajagopalan since 2010. Her Gurus have been pivotal in ingraining Kiran’s commitment and determination in embracing this art form. As a member of the Natya dance company, she has had the privilege to be part of Natya’s productions like Meenakshi Kalyanam, Ramanuja Darshanam, 2019 World Tamil Conference: Tamizh Marabu, Bala Ramayanam, and Shakthi Chakra (2022). She enjoys teaching younger kids at the Natya Dance Academy classes and summer camps. Kiran has represented Natya at various prestigious venues, including the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, Pritzker Pavilion, and Navy Pier and has had the honor of performing in the presence of the Consulate General of India. She also frequently participates in community outreach programs in Chicago public schools, Chicago’s Night Out in the Parks, and cultural festivals. Kiran has won many awards in Bharatanatyam - winner in the FETNA International Youth solo (Natchathiram 2019) and group Bharatanatyam Competition, Chicago Papanasam Sivan, and Chicago Kannada Koota competitions to name a few.

Kiran is an avid carnatic vocalist and has been training under Smt. Vani Ramamurthi and Sri. Anirudh Bharadwaj since 2016. In addition, she has been learning Veena from Smt. Saraswathi Ranganathan since 2017. Classical art forms have been an integral part of Kiran’s life and she aspires to grow as an artist under her Gurus while passionately sharing these artforms with diverse audiences.
